What is Graphic Design
Graphic design is a creative process which involves a client, a graphic designer and often other third parties such as printers and marketing professionals.
The purpose of graphic design is to convey a message in a presentable format which is targeted at a specific audience.
Various methods are used to create and combine words, symbols, and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages.
Graphic design is often linked to other professions such as web design , packaging design and signage design as they all make use of visual communication to portray their message.

Graphic Design tools used to create to our designs
We use a professional tool set to create our artwork.
Adobe Illustrator
This is our primary artwork creation program which is used to layout, add and manipulate colour, text, images and symbols.
This program is primarily a vector based program which means its graphics are line and point based and can be scaled up and down without loss of quality.
Corel draw is a very similar program and can in some cases exchange graphics with adobe illustrator.
Adobe Photoshop
This is a secondary program used to create and edit images at a professional level.
Adobe Photoshop used raster based artwork which is limited by pixels which are tiny squares of colour that make up and image. This artwork cannot be scaled up without loss of quality.
Adobe Indesign
We use this program specifically for artwork that has many pages such as magazines, brochures and catalogues.
This is a very powerful program but is not made for designing artwork elements such as logo design.
Other Graphic Design Programs
There are other design rpograms out there but the ones mentioned above are industry standard and offer extensive flexibility.
